BLACK SELECT is Black Dragon Forge’s premium range of individually selected handle materials for knifemakers.

Every piece is chosen and processed by hand for its colour, grain, figure, soundness and suitability for use in a premium knife handle. Each block is listed individually, so the material shown in the product photographs is the exact piece you will receive.

Where applicable, each listing includes the individual block dimensions, species information, Process Date and Safe Use Date, together with preparation and drying information specific to that material.

BLACK SELECT natural timber is supplied in its natural, unstabilized state where the density and characteristics of the species make resin stabilization unnecessary or of limited benefit.

Each timber block is hand-finished to 230 grit and lightly coated with Black Dragon Forge Alkanet Root Oil, manufactured by Black Dragon Forge and available exclusively from us, to reveal the colour, grain and individual character of the material.
